What is BakeitFun Baking Mat? / First Impressions

The BakeitFun baking mat is a non-stick silicone mat that you can place on your baking sheets to give your baking sheet extra protection while you are cooking. I use silicone mats for cookies and my cookies always turn out great. This mat also has printed circles on it which helps aid proper placement if you happen to be baking cookies. No more worrying about the cookies baking together! 

This mat is also great if you are making any type of pastry on your counter top and just want that extra protection on your prepping surface. Say you are making sugar cookies. You can place the dough right on the mat to roll it out, cut your cookies, remove excess dough, then transfer the mat right onto your baking sheet to go into the oven. 

I also love that it has the measurements on the edges. I have made soft pretzels on this baking mat and it was very easy to get uniform sizes to ensure they would all bake evenly. Silicone mats are great because you don't need to worry about the extra fat or grease from using a butter/shortening stick or spray to keep your baked goods from sticking. Though if you are baking sugar cookies, what is a few extra calories from a non-stick spray(I won't tell!). 

Baking mats are also great for easy clean up! If you are anything like me, and hate the clean up after baking/cooking, then look no farther. I am usually one to use parchment paper while I bake anything, because I HATE to scrub pans. I like that the baking mats are reusable, so I don't have to worry about running out of parchment paper while I am baking. I just take the baking mat from the baking sheet, give it a quick rinse with soap and water, dry, and you're good to go for the next round. Most of the time the baking sheet won't need more than a quick wipe down with a damp cloth.

How do I use it?

If you have never used an eyelash curler before, it's really simple. Don't let it look intimidating! It's as simple as placing the curler close to your lash line and squeezing the handles. I like to add the extra step of heating it under the hair dryer for about 10 seconds to warm it up, this helps the curl hold better. After curling, you can leave your lashes alone or apply your favorite mascara.

Review: InstaNatural deep cleansing facial oil and rosehip seed oil

What is InstaNatural deep cleaning facial oil?

Don't shy away from this just because you may have acne prone or oily skin and this product says oil right on the label! This product works better as a makeup remover for me, but it is also a one step cleanser if you would like it to be (Keep reading for my opinion). This cleanser has some great active ingredients such as jojoba oil, olive oil, lavender essential oil, tamanu oil, hemp oil, sea buckthorn oil, and geranium essential oil.
This product can be used as a makeup remover, face cleanser, after shaving to prevent irritation, or as an aftercare for sunburn.

How do I use it?

This product is pretty simple to use. It's as simple as this!
1. Apply product to washcloth or cotton pad
2. Apply on face where desired
3. Rinse with warm water
I added the extra step of using a different face wash after because I did not like the feeling this product gave my face after using.

First Impression

I was very uneasy seeing the word oil in the product name when I first went to try this out. I give it a few tries by itself, but I wasn't impressed with how it made my skin feel after washing. It felt like it wouldn't come off and left my skin very oily, I even had a small breakout after using it, which I had not had a breakout in about 3 months. I added the extra step of using my everyday cleanser after using this to remove my makeup, it even removes mascara with ease, and this product finally got 2 thumbs up from me! I was very upset that I may have had to put this product in the dud pile, but it is honestly a great product for me. Even though I need the extra step in there because my skin is sensitive, I do not mind. :) 

What is InstaNatural Rosehip Seed Oil?

This is simply what it says right on the bottle, rosehip oil. There are no other fillers or any other ingredients in this bottle. This product is great for fine lines, scars and stretch marks, sun spots, age spots, and also great for your nails and hair! This seems like an all in 1 product! They flat out warned about a slight fishy smell when I was waiting to receive my product, but I personally thought it smelled more like fresh brewed tea(maybe i'm the odd one out. lol) After opening, this product is suggested to be stored in the fridge, so ensure the freshness lasts while you are using this product.

How do I use it?

Since this can be used in a few ways, I will post a few ways to apply this product.

Face and body:

1. Wash area before application

2. Apply 2 -5 drops(depending on how big the area is) of product to your fingers and rub onto desired area. Allow product to absorb before applying any other products to skin.

Nails:

1. Simply apply like a normal cuticle oil

Hair:
You can use this 2 different ways in your hair.
1. Add to a few drops to your shampoo

2. After washing and drying hair, apply to scalp

I personally do not mind the smell as much, because it does go away after some time. I do occasionally get a hint of it here and there through the day, but it's really not that bad. I have not used it in my hair, but I have applied it to my face and nails. I have seen slight improvement with my post acne marks, but I honestly don't have any at the moment, so I feel like I couldn't be a strong tester for that. It did leave my skin feeling very soft and smooth after just 1 week of everyday use. I also am terrible at remembering cuticle oil, but maybe now that the weather is getting cooler I will remember more and I can post an honest review of what it does for my nails.

Review: Valentia Even Glow Serum

What is Valentia Even Glow Serum?

Like my previous post about the Mystelic Beauty's Vitamin C serum, this product is pretty much the same. It is best used for premature aging, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, elasticity loss, loss of firmness, and just for skin that needs a revitalizing boost!
Valentia does have some different ingredients compared to the Mystelic Beauty serum. Just to name a few ingredients in this serum, it has organic rosehip oil, organic sea buckthorn oil, and green tea extract.(Full ingredient list is posted on their amazon listing.)

How do I use it?

Step 1: Wash your face and pat dry

Step 2: Gently swirl the bottle to mix ingredients that may have settled. Use the dropper to apply 2-3 drops on your fingertips. Rub your finger tips to get product on both hands then gently apply product on your face and neck.(Apply product 1-2 times daily)

Step 3: Give the product time to fully absorb before you apply your moisturizer or any other products to your face.

First Impressions

When I first opened the bottle I noticed that it smells just like oranges. Yum! The smell is a huge plus for me, because as you might know, I hate smelly face care products. Compared to the past vitamin C serum I've used, this product is very thick, which is a positive and a negative for me. The thick product is great because it applies easy and you don't have to worry about rushing it from your hands to your face in fear of spilling it everywhere. The negative, the serum feels very heavy on my face and takes a bit longer to fully absorb into my skin, which isn't a terrible thing, but I don't enjoy the heavy feeling that much. I kind of enjoy this product more than the Mystelic Beauty serum, but I honestly saw more of a difference in my skin when I used the Mystelic Beauty serum vs. Valentia. I again, used this product the same amount of time as past serums, I just didn't get the huge wow factor like I had in the past. I will keep this one in my travel kit and use it while I'm away from home. Big thank you to Valentia for giving me this product to review!

What is Nature's Best vitamin C Serum?

Vitamin C serum's are used for premature aging, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, elasticity loss, loss of firmness, and just for skin that need a revitalizing boost! This particular one is an all natural product great for all skin types. They also states that it helps to reduce acne, as well as post acne marks(which is what made me want to try this product).

How do I use it?

Step 1: Wash your face and pat dry
Step 2: Gently swirl bottle to mix ingredients that may have settled at the bottom. Use the dropper to apply a few drops to your fingertips then gently rub product onto your face and neck(You may apply 1-2 times a day)
Step 3: Give the product time to absorb before you apply any moisturizer or makeup products.

First impressions

I have used this product for about a month, twice a day. Being 22, I don't have any fine lines or wrinkles to take care of, but I do have some discoloration due to post acne marks. This product has made my skin softer and my skin is by far more even toned.
Smell, this product is pretty much odorless. I have used my fair share of SMELLY skin care products in my time, so this being odorless just raises the bar a lot more in my book!
The consistency is the only thing that was not great for me. The product is super runny and hard to keep on my fingertips for application. The product did absorb fairly quickly though so I guess the runny product can be okay in that aspect. 

Overall, this product was great and I enjoyed using it to review for everyone. I am highly considering adding a vitamin C serum to my everyday skin care routine. Anything that applies quick and easy is great for me. I hate having to apply too many products on my skin because I am so prone to breakouts. Review: Cassani Fogless Shower Mirror

What is it?

Ever get out of the shower and realize that you are crunched for time. You need to get ready, NOW! You take a look at the mirror and see that it's completely fogged up. What do you do now? Open the door, grab a towel and wipe down the mirror, take out the hair dryer to clear the fog and pray the mirror clears so you still have time to actually look like a functioning human being. (Guilty of all of the above) I don't have to do that anymore thanks to my Cassani Fogless Mirror.

First Impressions

This product is also comes with handy hanging mounts for you to hang your mirror in the shower, as well as a mount to hang your razor. I unfortunately rent my townhouse, so I do not want to ruin my shower walls with the adhesive backing used to hang the mirror. I usually use mine out of the shower anyway while I apply my vitamin C serum, acne spot treatment, and facial moisturizer.
The product is also a huge hit with my soon to be 1 year old! She holds it and looks at herself whenever she gets the chance. One con I would put on it, the mirror is not smudge proof. I am always finding myself cleaning the smudges off of my mirror before I use it. Not a huge deal for me because that's what I get for letting my daughter play with it. This mirror gets an A+ in my book.
