Review: Foxbrim Natural Refresh Toner

What is Foxbrim Toner?

This is a 100% natural and alcohol free toner. This toner includes MSM to help smooth and brighten skin, Witch Hazel to reduce inflammation and tighten pores, and Aloe to help moisturize. No parabens or additives are included in this toner, so you get the most from the included ingredients. This toner is made for all skin types, best for acne prone or irritated skin. 

How is it Used?

You simply spritz a spray or 2 onto your face after any serums, but before your moisturizer. I don't like spray bottles on my face because it is a bit hard to cover your whole face without wasting a bunch of product, so I spray a few sprays onto a cosmetic sponge and rub it on my face. 

First Impression

I was not super impressed that it was a spray bottle, but using the cosmetic sponge works just as well for me. This product did help in getting rid of any hyper-pigmentation/post acne marks I have on my skin. I find myself reaching for my concealer less and less after using this product. I have less redness in my skin and I think this is going to make a great addition to my skin care routine. I love that this is an all natural product, so I don't have to worry about my skin becoming irritated or my pores being blocked after use.

Review: Dr Song Professional Teeth Whitening Kit

What is it?

This product is a professional teeth whitening kit you can use at home. This is a maximum strength kit, the same dentists use in their office. This kit alone is not recommended for sensitive teeth, you can purchase a separate remineralizing gel kit to desensitize your teeth during treatment. 

The kit includes:

• 8 large syringes of whitening gel - good for 50 applications
• gel applicator brush - for easy application of whitening gel
• LED blue light accelerator - for acceleration of whitening process
• 3 moldable teeth trays

How do I use it?

Tips:

• Keep gel away from gums, as it can cause irritation or temporary bleaching of gums
• Keep the kit in a cool dark place, away from sunlight
• The light is optional, but it speeds up the whitening process
• Use shorter and more frequent treatments to achieve longer lasting results
• When it comes to gel, less is more
• Do not do long treatments if you are not sure how sensitive your teeth are
• The shelf life of the gel is 12 months

Prepare the trays:

1. Place the tray on your upper teeth. Practice with your tongue on the roof of your mouth and touching the inside of the tray. Suck the air from the tray. This helps to contour the tray to your teeth. Repeat with lower tray
2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Pour water into a cup and let it sit for 1 min. Starting with 1 tray at a time, dip the tray in the water for 5 seconds. If the tray folds into itself(happens when dipped too long), reshape the tray to it's original form and allow to cool before dipping again.
3. Lift the tray out of the water from the tab and carefully, but quickly, place the tray around your teeth and immediately perform step 1.
4. The tray can be reformed multiple times, so don't worry if you are not satisfied with the first fit.
5. Once you are satisfied with your fit, trim the front tab off the tray. You can trim the tray itself if you find the tray is too large.

Whitening:

1. Brush and floss
2.  If you are using desensitizing gel, apply this now. Dispense .5ml of gel into a small bowl and use the applicator brush to apply a thin layer of gel to the front of your teeth. Do the same with the whitening gel. You only need to apply the gel to the front of your teeth because nobody will see the back.
3. Insert the trays and immediately wipe off any excess gel from your gums.
• Optional: You can use the LED light by placing it over your trays and use it for 15 mins at the beginning of your session
4. Wear the trays for 15 mins but no more than 4 hours, depending on how strong you desire treatment. If sensitivity or irritation occur, wait 24 hours before using the treatment again and use less gel. You can repeat daily until you reach your desired shade. You may also wear the trays longer if you do not experience sensitivity.
5. Gently remove any excess gel that remains on your teeth and gums to prevent any possible irritation.

First Impressions

While this kit does not work as fast as my prior whitening kit I used, this kit did make my teeth a few shades whiter after 3 15 min sessions. I have not tried the kit for longer periods of time, but with the holidays coming up, I may try a few longer sessions around Christmas time to boost the whitening of my teeth. I am also using a whitening toothpaste and rinse which adds an extra boost of whitening power to my teeth.

Review: Kiss InstaWave Automatic Curler

What is the Kiss InstaWave?

The Kiss InstaWave is a clipless curling iron/wand that has a 1" rotating barrel that creates tangle-free, beautiful, long-lasting curls with ease! It is easy to use with either hand and has a curl dial that can make left/right curling directions. The wand also has 2 heat settings that reach a max temperature of 420 degrees. The wand also has an automatic timer that turns the wand off after 90 mins, so no need to stress after you leave. "Did I forget to turn off my curling wand?" If you want tighter curls, turn the heat setting to high and hold the hair on the wand for 10 seconds. For looser, more beachy waves, use the low setting and hold for 5 seconds.

How do I use it?

Make sure your hair is 100% dry and tangle free before beginning. Start by settling your heat to your desired temperature. The wand has an indicator light that turns red when the device is on, but turns blue when it reaches the right temperature, the wand heats up in under 2 mins. 

Start by grabbing a 1-2" section of hair and placing the hair in the dial at the bottom of the wand. Make sure you hold the wand vertical and close to your roots for a more natural curl. 

Push the the curl dial button left or right and the InstaWave will instantly and automatically catch your hair and wrap it around the wand to curl it. Release the button when all of the hair is wrapped on the barrel. **Pro Tip: Switch between curling your hair left and right for a more natural look. When you reach the front of your face, curl the hair away from your face.

Make sure the wand is vertical and hold for 5-10 seconds(depending on your desired look)

Pull the wand straight down to release your hair and admire your wonderful curls!

First Impressions

It took me about 3 tries to get the hang of the curling wand, and I still was not super impressed with it. Though the barrel is 1", my hair is a few inches past my shoulders and the wand did not do a great job curling my hair, I think this product is best for longer hair. The curls weren't a complete fail, they did look pretty nice in some parts, maybe I just need a bit more practice with it. (I will insert pictures)

As you can tell by my face, I was not completely impressed with it. Maybe if I tried a few more times and tried on somebody with longer hair it would look great. I've seen fantastic results from this wand and it is still growing on me. Maybe my next time will be a huge success and I can post a great update!(Stay tuned!)
